Schmidt Lecture Series Featuring Michael Thompson, Ph.D.
On February 5, Country Day welcomed Michael Thompson, Ph.D. as this year’s Schmidt Lecture Series speaker. He spent the day with students to talk about friendships and the social struggles of adolescence. In his evening presentation tailored to parents and educators, Dr. Thompson walked the audience through the complex social world of childhood/adolescence in his talk titled “Best Friends, Worst Enemies: Friendship Development, Popularity and Social Cruelty in Childhood.” Dr. Thompson is the best-selling author of popular parenting books, including Raising Cain, The Pressured Child, Mom They’re Teasing Me and Best Friends, Worst Enemies.
